If Amuse is stupid enough to salt Miko in Koba’s dungeon, then they are not going to get the best new talent from ASH – not now, that roads to Korea have been opened, first by Ayana Kuwahara and then, later, by Aiko Sumida. No Japanese entertainment company can afford to get complacent any more and that includes Amuse. Seoul is only a plane ticket away from Tokyo.
It’s happened in Japan, too. See what happened to UpFront/Hello Project. Look at the Sayashi and Nakamoto rivalry. Sayashi makes an early breakthrough in 2011-12 but Nakamoto totally eclipses her in 2014 and carries on rising while Sayashi carried on being left behind. Then in 2015 a disillusioned Sayashi leaves Morning Musume. In 2018, Yui leaves BABYMETAL, and Sayashi chooses not to renew her contract with UpFront. Co-incidence?
Imagine UpFront’s shock when they see Sayashi on a BBC Video, in Glastonbury together with BABYMETAL – think Danbara was not watching? See, that’s what happens when you get complacent.

You do understand that those who are making the 4x groups are at the bottom of the ASH talent heap, right? Will Amuse, Avex, Stardust or LDH take them? If you have talent but you don’t have visuals, then your best bet is UpFront. Amuse will not touch you with a barge pole, look at Ruru Danbara. If she had the visuals of Nakamoto, Sugimoto or Todaka, she definitely would have been scouted by Amuse.

I’ll say it again, the Japanese companies, especially Amuse, cannot afford to get complacent with the top ASH talent. Not when ASH graduates are building roads to Korea. Those Korean entertainment companies are savvy and ruthless. Look at what they have done to JPop idols in Kouhaku.

10年前はまだアイドル色強かったけど今ならボーカリストとして紹介できるし確立された
個人的にはASH1番の出世頭

Suzuka is ASH’s #1 talent. No other ASH student has the record she has. If Perfume made ASH known all over Japan, then Suzuka Nakamoto has taken ASH’s name, all over the world.
